Governor Newsom Plans To Veto Bill That Would Allow California To Keep Obama-Era Environmental Regulations

Governor Gavin Newsom says he plans to veto a bill that would have allowed California to keep Obama-era environmental regulations. The Governor believes Senate Bill One fails to reach its goal of protecting California from Trump Administration policies, and could derail efforts to secure voluntary settlement agreements.

Leaders of the environmental group Restore the Delta are asking the Governor to reconsider, and say a veto of SB 1 will allow Delta fisheries to collapse.
