Presidio Theater To Reopen This Weekend

The Presidio Theater is reopening this weekend for the first time in decades now that $30 million in renovations have been completed. The theater seats 600 and opened its doors in 1939 when it was used to screen films for military families and host popular acts including Bob Hope and Jack Benny. The renovations were made possible by a financial gift from the Margaret E. Haas Fund and an open house is being held at the Moraga Avenue theater Saturday with tours being offered on Sunday. Officials say the theater will be bringing back live performances and lectures to the Presidio Main Post.
