California May Declare THC A Risk To Pregnant Women

California is considering declaring a potent chemical in marijuana a risk to pregnant women. Studies show that a rising number of mothers-to-be are using marijuana products for relief from morning sickness and headaches, even though it hasn’t been backed up by science. The cannabis industry argues that too little is known about THC. They also say it could make marijuana companies a target for lawsuits with unverified claims of injuries from pot use during pregnancy. It’s not clear what the immediate impacts are on California’s legal pot industry should the state panel declare pot a risk for pregnant women.
