California Lawmakers Hope To Create New State Park

Some lawmakers have their eye on an 80 square mile ranch in Livermore that they hope will become a new state park. The N3 Ranch is larger than San Francisco and is home to cattle, elk, deer, migrating birds, and other wildlife. It is on the market for the first time and some want to see it become one of the largest parks the state has seen in years. Governor Gavin Newsom recently discussed the possibility of setting aside $20 million to purchase land for a new state park, but did not specify the location. Local lawmakers have been encouraging the state to preserve the N3 Ranch, including the mayor of Livermore who says he fully supports the plan. Whether or not the land will become a state park is still up in the air.
