California’s new vaccination laws are leaving some nurses confused about how to enforce them. Pamela Kahn, President of the California School Nurses Association, says so far no timeline has come from the California Department of Health on new guidelines.

The pair of bills signed by Governor Gavin Newsom last year require more oversight over medical exemptions for vaccinations and who will be granted one. Kahn says she has faith the department will issue guidelines before 2021. A spokesperson from the California Department of Public Health was unable to comment for this story.
