A man is facing charges after allegedly stabbing a Santa Rosa woman in the neck. Police say 28-year-old Enrique Avina of Lake County entered a Goodwill store off Yolanda Avenue in southeast Santa Rosa just before noon yesterday and attacked a female employee, slicing her neck. He then allegedly told an officer who responded to the scene to shoot him several times before cutting himself on the arm. The officer attempted to use a taser on Avina, which was ineffective, and then wrestled him to the ground, allowing other officers to take him into custody. The woman who was stabbed was rushed to a hospital, along with Avina and the officer, who suffered minor injuries. Investigators say Avina and his victim know each other, but the nature of their relationship is not yet clear.
