A new study released by UC Davis that examines the impacts of wildfires on cat health could provide insight on the way humans are treated after fires. Researchers found that cats suffering from burn injuries and smoke inhalation often developed more severe heart issues. They say the findings could pave the way to better understand these health issues in people. Scientists are continuing to develop treatments for heart issues in cats and note that the treatments could potentially translate to humans as well.
