Sonoma County Health Officials say they’re scrambling to get supplies and preparing for the worst when it comes to deadly coronavirus. The county is working to secure extra hospital beds and test kits as they expect the number of infected people to grow past the current number of 34. Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase says up to 40% of the county’s half a million residents could become infected just in the next few weeks. Officials are paying $50,000 for case modeling data designed to better predict what those numbers will actually be. The county is looking at Sonoma State University’s dorm rooms, the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building and local hotels as possible quarantine sites.
