One of the new cases of COVID-19 identified involved a staff member at a Sebastopol nursing home. The positive case was at Apple Valley Post-Acute Rehab and was detected as part of the county’s enhanced surveillance program. They were one of 15 tested at the facility as part of a sample group and was asymptomatic at the time. This has lead to further testing at the facility, including about 40 of their residents. Apple Valley tells the Press Democrat that the person who tested positive wore protective equipment around the patients and suggested exposure would’ve been limited. So far, other tests at the facility have been negative.
