2 Patients At UC Davis Medical Center To Be Treated By Plasma Transfusions


Two coronavirus patients at UC Davis Medical Center are among the first in the nation to be treated by plasma transfusions from a blood donor who has recovered from COVID-19.  Dr. Sarah Barnhard says it’s called “passive antibody therapy.”


Dr. Barnhard says it transfers the ability to fight the virus from one person to the next using the body’s natural immune system.
