Governor Newsom Says Church Activities May Resume Soon

Governor Gavin Newsom said yesterday that the state has made significant progress in the battle against the coronavirus. The easing of restrictions on gatherings in the coming weeks will be part of phase two of reopening the state. Governor Newsom said churches may be allowed to resume activities “In the next week or so.” A network representing hundreds of California churches said earlier this month that no matter where California is in its reopening process, it intends to hold in-person services for Pentecost, which is May 31st.
