California Democratic leaders have agreed on a budget plan they say covers the state’s over $54 billion deficit. The deal was announced yesterday, 12 days ahead of the June 15th deadline to adopt a budget. A news release states the agreement ensures full funding of K through 12 schools and avoids Governor Newsom’s budget cuts to health care services. It also includes more money for homeless services and universities.
