A nurse is denying claims that she tried to run over a group of peaceful protesters marching in downtown Santa Rosa over the weekend. She’s accused of deliberately driving her SUV toward the crowd of about 150 Black Lives Matter supporters Saturday night, but she tells a different side of the story. The nurse says the crowd surrounded her SUV, and one man punched her in the face. Video from the scene shows protesters gathering around the SUV before it was hit by a skateboard and other stuff that broke the windshield. Police say she tried to get out of the way and was looking for a clear path, adding that she panicked in the heat of the moment and don’t think she was trying to hurt anyone.
