Most Californians live in counties experiencing concerning coronavirus trends. That’s what Governor Newsom said yesterday after promising to step-up enforcement of virus-related orders and possibly add more restrictions. Nearly three-quarters of the state’s 40 million residents live in areas with troubling COVID-19 numbers. Newsom’s comments came after he ordered bars in seven counties to close and recommended that eight other counties do the same. San Diego, Riverside and Sacramento counties voluntarily closed their bars, and the San Francisco Bay Area and Contra Costa County delayed its planned Wednesday reopening of bars and indoor dining at restaurants.
