Santa Rosa Appoints New Community Engagement Director

The leader of a large Latino Leadership group in Sonoma County has been hired as the city of Santa Rosa’s new community engagement director. Magali Telles, the first executive director of Los Cien, will take over the post on July 21st. One of her first priorities will be the implementation of the city’s new Community Empowerment Plan created in the wake of the protests over the killing of George Floyd. In a statement, Telles expressed her passion for the community and also stated “I know that there is a lot of work ahead, and I am invigorated by the opportunity to get to know the specific needs and community assets in each neighborhood.” Telles starting salary will be just over $116,000.
