California Transit Association Requesting $3 Billion To Prevent Service Reductions

The California Transit Association is requesting at least $3.1 billion dollars to prevent crippling service reductions following a drastic decline in ridership since the start of the pandemic. Michael Pimentel with the Transit Association says those who are still using the service need to be protected.

A decline in ridership also means a loss in revenue. So if the planned service reductions materialize, Pimentel says those who genuinely need the service would suffer the most without additional funding.
