Sonoma County added 49 cases last night, bringing the total number of cases to 1,185. Of those, 620 have recovered, 558 of those remain active and 7 have passed away. The LatinX community continues to be the hardest hit ethnicity accounting for 70% of the county’s cases. Governor Newsom has said he may hand out more state restrictions in advance of the holiday, but no changes are expected here at home. Huge crowds are expected at Sonoma County beaches and tourist sites. In light of the surge of infections in the past two and a half weeks, the Board of Supervisors is urging residents to wear masks and practice social distancing this weekend.
