Driver In Deadly Highway 12 Crash Identified

A person who was killed in a single vehicle crash Tuesday on Highway 12 is being identified as 64-year-old woman from Santa Rosa. The Press Democrat reports that Fran Cordova was seen going over 65 mph on Highway 12 near Dutton Avenue before her collision. CHP determined she lost control of her BMW when merging from the left lane to the right as she approached another car in front of her. Cordova’s car hit the rail shaving off 20 feet of metal before hitting two trees. Rescue personnel tried to revive her but she died at the scene. CHP is still waiting toxicology results.
