Sonoma County Supervisors To Add Tax Measures To November Ballot

Sonoma County’s Board of Supervisors are poised to add two tax measures to the November ballot. Expected to be forwarded at their weekly board meeting tomorrow, the first is a quarter-cent sales tax would collect $25 million over the next ten years for the benefit of mental health and homeless services. This would be a second formal vote. The 2nd measure would be a renewal of a quarter-cent sales tax for transportation and road improvements. Recent polling suggests strong support for both measures showing 71% of likely county voters would support the measures. Some leading business groups oppose the move.
