North Bay residents have been breathing a little easier and getting a glimpse of blue sky through the smoky haze, but air quality officials say it won’t last. Santa Rosa has “good” air quality this morning with an AQI of 15. For the most part, the air quality has been considerably better for the Bay Area and will continue to improve through Friday. Meteorologists say to enjoy the cleaner air while it lasts. A shift in winds could mean smokier skies for the weekend. Regardless of the clearer skies, a Spare the Air alert remains in effect today. Bay Area Air Quality Management District officials hope to end the record-breaking streak of Spare the Air days by Thursday.
