Sonoma County’s attempts to buy Hotel Azura may have hit a snag with its offered price. The Press Democrat reports that county documents show that it is ready to pay $3 million more than the appraised price of the hotel. And while the purchase is being targeted using state funds from Project Homekey, the state has said it will not pay above the appraised value of the hotel. Meanwhile, county officials state that the previous $4.9 million appraisal is a placeholder and are set to get an official appraisal by the end of the week. If the county walks away from the deal it signed in July, they will lose a $50,000 dollar deposit.
