A 30-year-old San Pablo resident has been arrested after striking a Petaluma firefighter with his car. Sunday morning just after 3 AM, fire personnel were on scene at North McDowell Boulevard with a patient having a medical issue. A man approached the firefighters, later identified as Everal Thompson, asking them questions before the personnel asked him to leave. He then hit one of the firefighters with his car and fled in his vehicle. The firefighter wasn’t seriously injured and was able to provide a description of Thompson which led to his arrest. A handgun was found in Thompson’s vehicle: he was also charged with being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
