A 31-year-old man has been arrested after driving recklessly through Petaluma. Police say that Mahmoud Ramadan allegedly drove throughout a west side residential area of Petaluma at a high rate of speed and running several red lights. Officers had terminated the pursuit but were alerted by witnesses that the Porsche he was driving had parked on Baker Court and he along with an elderly passenger fled on foot. They were taken into custody after being found in a detached garage with Ramadam charged with DUI, reckless driving, felony evading, and driving with a suspended license. The elderly passenger was released after being determined he didn’t commit any crimes. But, due to putting the passenger in danger, Ramadan may be subject to a charge of elder abuse.
