More Than 73,000 Southern California Residents Could Be Without Power On Thanksgiving

More than 73,000 Southern California Edison customers could be in the dark on Thanksgiving. The utility company is considering power shutoffs ahead of dangerous Santa Ana winds in tomorrow’s forecast. More than 25,000 SCE customers are in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. The shut-off would start at noon tomorrow and last until 3:00 p.m. Friday, spanning communities as far north as Oxnard. A National Weather Service Fire Weather Watch is now in effect. Gusts are expected to top out at around 45 mph across Southern California tomorrow.
