New Report Shows Sonoma County Officials Failed To Enforce Mitigation Rules For Summer And Fall Weddings

A report by The San Francisco Chronicle shows officials in Sonoma County didn’t enforce COVID mitigation rules for some wedding receptions. After reviewing catering contracts and social media posts, the paper found there were 15 wedding events with over 100 people that occurred during the summer and fall. The report found lax enforcement of health rules by the County put workers at risk. However, some catering staff said the money seemed more important than safety. And since jobs are scarce, they felt they couldn’t voice their concerns to company owners.
