Dianne Feinstein isn’t leaving the Senate. The Democratic Senator from California told CNN she is not retiring before her term expires in 2024. She was asked the question because earlier, Governor Gavin Newsom said he would appoint a Black woman to replace Feinstein if she steps down. The 87-year-old Feinstein added she has not discussed retiring with anybody and nobody asked her any questions about it. This comes after Newsom was criticized for not replacing Kamala Harris with another Black woman when she was elected vice president.
