Water Levels Below Average at Lakes Sonoma and Mendocino

Lake Sonoma

Another year of low rainfall has lead to another year of low reservoir totals for Lake Sonoma and Lake Mendocino. Lake Sonoma currently has over 155,000 acre-feet of water stored, sitting at about 63% of its storage capacity for this time of year. Lake Mendonico has about 36,000 acre-feet of water stored, and is roughly 45% of storage capacity. As a result, the Sonoma County Water Agency is urging residents to conserve water during this dry season. Water saving tips can be found at savingwaterpartnership.org.
