California Governor Gavin Newsom joins "The View," April 3, 2020. - (ABC)

California’s tiered reopening system could become a thing of the past on June 15th.  Governor Gavin Newsom says the state could allow businesses to fully reopen, and lift all restrictions on gatherings that day. However, there are two conditions.  The state’s vaccine supply must stay high enough to serve all adults who want one, and hospitalization rates have to remain stable and low.  If those conditions are met, the color-coded system that’s been dictating the pace of the state’s recovery for more than six months would be gone.  But, mask-wearing and social distancing requirements would remain in place.  Testing or vaccinations may also be required for people who want to go to large-scale indoor events like conventions, concerts, and games.
