Sonoma Sheriff’s Helicopter Henry 1 is getting credited with an assist in Mendocino County.
The Ukiah Valley Fire Authority requested helicopter assistance on Monday after a hiker reported that their companion had fallen down a long and steep drop off in the area of Orr Creek. The crew found the woman and used a 200 foot long line to get her out of an area in very steep terrain and to an awaiting Reach Air Ambulance. She was then transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The seriousness of the injuries were not stated but the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that “a good outcome is expected.”
