Californians 16 and over can now get their COVID-19 vaccine. The state is expanding eligibility starting today. Residents who are 16 and 17-years-old are only able to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Sonoma County Vaccine Chief Dr. Urmila Shende reminds us this doesn’t mean there will be a vaccine available for everyone right away. The state hopes to vaccinate 75-percent of the adult population to achieve herd immunity. In Sonoma County, 36-percent of those 16 and over have been fully vaccinated.
