A Santa Rosa man has been sentenced to six years in prison for a hit and run that happened in 2019.

Hector Cabrales-Larios was sentenced Thursday afternoon after pleading no contest to felony charges of hit and run, driving under the influence of alcohol with a prior felony DUI, and causing great bodily injury to a child under the age of 5. Prosecutors say that in July of 2019, Cabrales-Larios ran over a two year old girl on Range Avenue near Coddingtown Mall. Witnesses said that the driver made no effort to stop and accelerated away from the scene. The girl suffered major injuries including heart and lung contusions, a skull fracture, and a brain bleed. She has since made a full recovery.
