Some Windsor residents are concerned about a temporary homeless shelter coming to the Holiday Inn on Old Redwood Highway. The site is being turned into a temporary Non-Congregate shelter site for COVID-vulnerable homeless over 65 years of age. Supervisor James Gore says every effort is made to ensure the safety of citizens and the homeless…
“24/7 security is a part of all of these sites and management of them,” said Gore. “The reason these things cost a ton of money and then people say you shouldn’t be spending money on that is because if you’re going to manage a site, you better make sure that it’s lock tight.
Gore spoke with KSRO’s Ask the Expert host George Adair yesterday, and said he wants the community to hold the Board of Supervisors responsible for maintaining the safety of the site.
“I am going to be driving by the site, making sure it is not a nuisance or other thing,” Gore added.
The site is set to open before the end of the month.
