Sonoma County is making progress on vaccinating kids age 12 to 15 from the coronavirus. Nearly 30-percent of the county’s kids in that age group have been at least partially vaccinated. Officials say that number is not enough to reach the goal of a 70-percent vaccination rate set by the state’s Department of Public Health. With schools reopening this fall, the county worries the vaccinations will not be enough to stay away from a surge effect. Nearly 90-percent of the county’s school employees are now vaccinated according to officials.
