Ten California residents became millionaires.  Governor Gavin Newsom selected ten people to win $1.5 million as a part of the VAX For The Win program.  The state is keeping the winner’s identities anonymous for security purposes. Four of the winners came from Los Angeles County, and one winner each from Marin County, Riverside County, Santa Barbara County, Sacramento County, Stanislaus County, and Ventura county. To enter the vaccine incentive program, residents just have to have at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine by the time their name is drawn.  However, they have to complete the vaccine series in order to get their prize money.  Newsom said there were about 22-million people eligible for a prize.
