High Volume of Passengers at Sonoma County Airport

Passenger travel continues to rebound at the Charles M Schulz Sonoma County Airport.

The airport reports that 38,050 passengers travelled through the airport in May, up 890-percent from May of 2020 when the pandemic was still in its early stages. The airport’s largest carrier, Alaska Airlines, flew 24,730 passengers in May, up nearly 1300-percent from the previous May. Meanwhile, startup Avelo Airlines flew 5,022 passengers during May and American Airlines flew 8,298 passengers. Jon Stout, the airport manager, tells the North Bay Business Journal that United Airlines is on track to restart service to San Francisco by August 1st, and Denver service by September 8th.
