The Golden Gate Bridge District is blaming faulty equipment for overcharging thousands of drivers at the toll plaza. It’s issuing refunds to about 32-thousand drivers who were charged at least three times what they actually owed over the past two months. District officials say a Fastrak sensor in one toll lane incorrectly counted the number of axles on the vehicles, which determines the price. The problem was discovered after customers complained. They say it only affected about one percent of total bridge crossings.
