As the state continues to deal with hot temperatures, residents across the Bay Area are being asked again to conserve their power. The California Independent System Operator issued another Flex Alert for tonight. It will be in effect from 6 to 9 p.m. in order to reduce stress on the state’s power grid. In addition, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an emergency proclamation yesterday that suspends certain permitting requirements in order to allow power plants to ramp up operations if necessary to meet the demand for electricity.
