A draft of a multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan is available for public viewing.

Put forward by Permit Sonoma in partnership with several local jurisdictions in the county, the plan identifies and develops projects to minimize natural hazards such as earthquakes, wildfires, and floods. Along with added resiliency during disasters, approval of the plan will make Sonoma County and participating jurisdictions eligible to receive Federal Emergency Management Agency funds. Partners include the cities of Santa Rosa, Cotati, Sonoma, and the Town of Windsor. You can view the plan on the county’s website as well as submit comment or join Permit Sonoma’s webinar explaining the plan on July 21st at 6 PM.
