A bit of good news in fighting the pandemic. Sonoma County officials have announced that more than 70% of county residents age 12 and older are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Another 8% of residents have received at least one dose bringing our full or partially vaccinated total to 78%. However, it comes as the coronavirus case load rises. There are over a thousand active cases a day in the county with over 40 per day hospitalized. The news comes as the new Delta Variant has become the dominant variant strain in the county… officials have detected 135 cases of the Delta variant in COVID-positive patients.
