Business Parklets in Windsor have been approved to stay for another year. The Windsor Town Council last week agreed tentatively to extend the Outdoor Dining and Commerce Program which will allow the parklets to stay until December 1st of 2022. The program was first approved in June of 2020 with businesses operating these spaces under a temporary permit program. However, some more regulations will come with this extension, mainly centered on maintaining “optimum aesthetics.” Among other things, it would prohibit the use of pop-up tents and awnings, faux lawn products, plastic or vinyl fences or furniture, and outward-facing advertising. The Town Council will take a final vote on the extension in November.
