A Healdsburg father will spend time behind bars for the drowning of his four-year-old daughter. Gerardo Mendoza Ordaz was sentenced to 11 years in prison yesterday in Sonoma County court. Ordaz admitted to drowning his youngest daughter, Maria, in a two-foot-deep pool back in November of 2016 inside of St. John’s Catholic Church in Healdsburg. The 11 year sentence was a part of a negotiated plea deal.
