Santa Rosa police have boarded up a house allegedly being used for drug sales. Over the first nine months of the year, police had received nuisance calls from neighbors regarding a house in the 2000 block of Cooper Drive. Neighbors were concerned about suspicious vehicles, people, narcotics sales, and criminal activity coming and going from the residence. The narcotics division served six search warrants, made seven arrests, and confirmed narcotics trafficking was occurring at the residence. Additionally, at least one overdose was associated with this location. Eventually, the city used the civil court process and the state Drug Abatement Act to take control of the house and board it up. The owner, who wasn’t named, is being fined $48,478 and is also prohibited from going onto the property for one year, without the permission of the Santa Rosa City Attorney’s Office.
