The Petaluma Fire Chief has been placed on administrative leave. City Manager Peggy Flynn confirmed yesterday that Chief Leonard Thompson is on leave. Details have not been shared with the public, but his leave means that two south county fire departments under Thompson’s command are now without their top official. Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Schach has assumed the role of acting fire chief.
