Oakland, CA - December 06, 2016: Recovery efforts continue in the aftermath of the "Ghost Ship" warehouse fire in Oakland, CA. Death toll: 36 people.

Thursday marked five years since 36 people died in the Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland, and families of the dead are still grieving. David Gregory wrote in an Instagram post about his daughter’s death anniversary, who was one of the youngest out of all the victims at 20 years old. The youngest victim was 17-year-old Draven McGill. A lawsuit against the Ng family, who owned the warehouse, resulted in the family filing for bankruptcy earlier this year. The money from the bankruptcy proceedings is going to be converted into money for the victim’s families. The attorney representing the majority of the victims estimates that the asset liquidation will bring in about $7-million.
