The California Public Utilities Commission are punishing PG&E for violations related to the Kincade Fire in 2019. Officials announced yesterday that the utility company was penalized $125-million. The commission approved a settlement in which PG&E will pay $40-million to the state’s general fund and incur an $85-million “permanent disallowance” that won’t allow the utility to recover costs from ratepayers.
