New District Map Approved for Sonoma County

Approved District Map from the County of Sonoma

Sonoma County Supervisors have adopted the new district map. The Board approved the new map in a 4 to 1 vote yesterday, ending what was a controversial process. The map drew public criticism because supervisors diverged from their own advisory commission’s recommendation. Supervisor Chris Coursey was the lone supervisor who voted no on the final map. The map divides northern Santa Rosa into the 4th, 5th, and 1st Districts, and adds Roseland and Moorland into the 3rd District with downtown Santa Rosa and most of Rohnert Park.

Chair of the Board of Supervisors Lynda Hopkins spoke with KSRO’s Michelle Marques about the map’s final approval as well as receiving more funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.
