Covid Death Toll in California Eclipses 77,000

Statewide, 176 deaths have been reported as California health officials logged 86,719 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. Yesterday’s fatalities reportedly boost the cumulative, coronavirus-related death toll to over 77-thousand. Total case count now stands at just under seven million. Sonoma County’s case numbers appear to have peaked over the last few days, as numbers of new cases are heading downward. There were 974 new cases reported today, down from 1,471 on Saturday. State health officials reported that 72.4-percent of all California residents over the age of 5 are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
