A federal judge is calling California’s largest public utility a continuing menace to the state. District Judge William Alsup slammed PG&E Wednesday as the criminally-convicted company emerges from probation for causing the deadly San Bruno gas pipeline explosion in 2010. Judge Alsup says the company hasn’t done nearly enough to improve safety and has been on a “crime spree”. Alsup notes that during its probation, PG&E’s equipment has sparked more than 30 wildfires that destroyed almost one-point-five-million-acres, 24-thousand structures and killed 113 people. In response, PG&E simply said it “welcomed feedback from the court”.
