Sonoma County Cannabis Cultivation Tax Collection Delayed

Sonoma County cannabis growers are getting a brief delay to pay their cultivation taxes. The Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed to suspend the due date for the first quarter taxes from January 31st to April 30th. The county taxes local growers at different rates on a per-square-foot basis for outdoor, indoor and mixed light crops. About 170 licensed cannabis cultivators, five dispensaries and five manufacturers pay taxes to the county. The board could extend the due date beyond April 30th and they’re due to discuss potential long-term relief options on March 15th.
