Santa Rosa Police Chief Ray Navarro is retiring after three decades with the department.  City officials announced last night that Navarro will retire on May 2nd.  The 52-year-old tells the Press Democrat he wants to spend more time with his family, including two grandsons under the age of 3. Navarro became Santa Rosa’s first Latino police chief when he was promoted to the position from captain in 2019.  Santa Rosa Police Captain John Cregan will serve as interim chief until a permanent replacement is found, according to the city.
Chief Navarro spoke with KSRO’s Michelle Marques and Larry Olson about his retirement decision.
